Description: For the last decade, there is increasing awareness of the urgent need to find solutions to initiate climate mitigation action leading to a more sustainable future. While the cement and concrete industry plays an important role in the European economy, their production process is a major contributor to global warming and is responsible for 8% of carbon dioxide emissions. In addition, the recent developments for green and digital transformations in all areas of manufacturing fueled the technological adaptation of construction materials for additive manufacturing. The industry reports indicate that in short term the construction industry will be transformed by implementing digital manufacturing techniques and those companies and governments prepared for this transformation will influence the roadmap to their own advantage. This internship program aims to train students in designing sustainable building materials adapted for 3D printing and utilizing digital production tools (BIM, 3D printer). The students expected to work in 3 different laboratories for the full scope of the internship.
