Project Description:
This project explores the impact of deepfake technology on criminal law, focusing on the risks it poses and strategies to address them. Students will examine real-life cases, news articles, and legal frameworks to understand how manipulated digital content can affect the justice system.
For the project, students will be divided into two groups:
By combining the insights of both groups in a final report and presentation, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of deepfake technology, its challenges in criminal law, and possible solutions.
About the Project:
Deepfake technology enables the production of highly realistic but fabricated audio and video materials. Although it can serve many legitimate purposes, it is sometimes exploited for criminal activities like fraud, identity theft, and tampering with evidence. This project aims to guide students in examining the legal challenges presented by deepfakes and exploring both technological and legal strategies to prevent their misuse.
